Ari Fleischer 2012 presidential election polls electoral votes

My previous post intended to suggest that one should be careful not to use polls to predict, but rather to anticipate based on past trends.  Ari Fleischer has taken a different approach to the problem, to wit, forget the numbers and the polls and just make a wish list: 309 electoral votes for Romney.  That is impressive--as would be lunch on Mars.  Just saying it does not make it true.  As far as landslides go, this would not be enormous (Reagan beat Mondale 525/13.  But I cannot see any numbers that lead to such a conclusion.  This is what is to be expected from "post-fact politics".
